Home Assesor

The role of the  Volunteer Home Assessor volunteer is to assist Rebuilding Together of Central Florida by conducting home visits and assessments on properties assigned by RTCFL. This is an in-person, skilled volunteer position, with a minimum amount of experience required. Volunteers will be asked to dedicate time in a number of weeks or number of homes they can complete assessments on. Home repair is the heart of what we do and as the Volunteer Home Assessor, you will be interacting with homeowners and entering their homes. It is critical that the Home Assessment Volunteer wears proper PPE and is respectful to each homeowner and person they encounter while representing Rebuilding Together. Volunteers who participate in this project have the option to become a Rebuilding Together House Captain and help train and oversee future volunteers. 


  •  Must be at least 18 years old 

  •  Understands Rebuilding Together of Central Florida’s mission 

  •  Works well independently and with others 

  •  Strong communication skills 

  •  Possesses required construction knowledge 

  •  Demonstrates mutual respect towards supervisors, volunteers, and partner families 

  • Owns or has access to a vehicle or reliable transportation 

  • Ability to wear PPE for long periods of time and maintain a social distance of 6 feet 


  • Schedules and conducts home assessments to establish clearly defined work scopes at assigned locations 

  • Documents assessment findings and work scope of assessed properties. 

  • Attend all scheduled review activities and meetings as assigned. 

  • Ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed to include most current CDC guidelines for social distancing. 

  • Assist in other duties as assigned
